Nintendo has released an automatic update for the Wii that apparently stops people from loading backups. I’m sure this was in answer to the developments a few weeks ago surrounding the Homebrew Channel and a leaked piece of software that allowed people to play pirated Wii games if they so chose.

If you saw blue lights going nuts on your Wii last night, this is why. Bummer.
