Mr. Pink’s Buying a Blackberry
I’ve resisted a cell phone upgrade for long enough. It’s time. Blackberry time, to be precise. You know what this means, right? Yeah – mobile updates!
I’m leaning toward the Storm. We’ll see how that turns out. I’m hoping to make the purchase on one this coming holiday weekend. Let me know in the comments if you have a Blackberry and, if you have one, how you feel about yours. I’d like to know what people like, dislike, etc.
Alien Squid!
National Geographic has an article with a video about an “alien-like” squid caught on a remote camera roughly a mile and a half underwater. The video is downright creepy. This thing has weird joints that look like elbows or knees or something.
Deep sea fish creep me out. There’s probably a lot of weird shit down there that we’ve yet to discover.
What Are Airlines Really Charging?
HotelsCheap.org has a feature up on their site called “The Big List of What Your Airline Really Charges You”. If you fly, then you need to check this out.
I’ve already saved a local copy of the entire page – I’m sure that it will come in extremely handy over the next twelve months, as I have several trips planned.
Out of Context #0016
Mr. Pink: I hate when they run.
Mr. Pink: They know that they’re going to get fucked.
Mr. Pink: I wish they’d just make it easy, bend over, and take it.
I feel the need to explain this one – I was playing a video game with Mr. Maroon.
Out of Context #0015
Mr. Maroon: Work was a bitch.
Mr. Maroon: Had to get up a lot.
Mr. Maroon: Surprisingly enough, it’s easier to stand than sit.
Mr. Pink: Yeah, sometimes happens that way.
Mr. Pink: Especially after a night with me, I’ve heard.
Mr. Maroon: I was laying down for a bit af…
Mr. Maroon: …
TinyTags
TinyTags is an interesting little website for you graphic designers out there who have always wanted to be able to kick out a quick “sale” tag for a flier or poster without wasting a bunch of time drawing one up in Illustrator.
I personally haven’t found a specific use for it just yet but the functionality of the site is very cool and it’s a fun concept in general. I’m sure that the need for it will arise at some point, especially given the options available for color and size. (I do a lot of freelance design work, so this kind of thing always catches my eye.)
I made the one you see here in about 15 seconds.
Seamless Background Patterns
Need some seamless background patterns for a blog? Art project?
AVA7 has you covered. Some of their selection is very cool. The site design itself is awesome, too. Very user friendly and I dig the flow. And there’s tons to choose from!
10 Challenging But Awesome CSS Techniques
I don’t usually post the “geeky” things that I come across, mostly because I doubt that there are a lot of web designers and developers among the WTC audience. This, however, was too good to pass up. If you’re into web design at all, then you should read this article. I’m sure that you’ll find it very useful.
If this is something that you’d like to see more of, just let me know in the comments. I’d be happy to start posting more of this kind of thing on the site.
