The Lonely Island – Jizz In My Pants
This is fucking amazing. These guys are instant legends.
Lego Chess Set
This is utterly badass – and it’s only $199! It’s a fantasy themed Lego chess set!
Although some assembly is required (duh – it’s Lego), the set does come complete with everything needed to play a legitimate round of chess with a friend.
You can buy one here.
Gizmine
Finally, there’s another site that sells toys and gadgets that are as cool as those that ThinkGeek carries. It’s called Gizmine and they sell everything from robots to headphones to books. They also appear to have quite a ridiculously large selection of digital and analog wristwatches. Very cool!
Unsportsmanlike Snow Angel
NFL referees have turned into real bitches.
Awesome Typography
Web Design Ledger has an article showcasing 33 of the best typography illustrations and posters from 2008. I’ve seen a few of these before but there were quite a few that were entirely new to me. The thing that I really liked about it was the fact that they really captured a wide range of design styles.
They even took the time to individually link to the source of each image. Many are available in high resolution. With a bit of basic Photoshop work, you might even be able to turn one or more into a wallpaper.
The one to the right is my personal favorite.
2009 Nerdcore Calendar
One of our visitors sent us a link to the 2009 Nerdcore Calendar from Totally Nerdcore. I haven’t seen this one in years past but it’s something that I think a lot of you guys would like. It’s probably a bit late to get one for someone as a Christmas gift but you should be able to get it well in advance of January 1.
Major Global Internet Outage
Several major Internet lines under the Mediterranean Sea have been cut (again) and at least 14 countries are currently without access to the web, according to this Wired article. There’s no indication as to the cause or an estimated time for repair at this point. A lot of bandwidth is being re-routed through the United States and other countries with
I’m usually not one to jump up and scream, “It was terrorists!” but there are way too many lines down at once for this to be an accident or a coincidence.
