FBI Saw Mortgage Fraud Years Ago, Did Nothing

According to a Seattle PI report, the FBI knew that mortgage fraud was on the rise and that corruption in the real estate industry was turning into a big problem several years before the market collapsed. That’s no real surprise. Anyone with an IQ over 70 could see that.

The surprise is that they consciously chose not to do anything about it at the time because the agency was “stretched too thin” to notice the severity of the issues. Two retired FBI officials confirmed the details of the story. One said that the intelligence dates back to 2002.

This is the kind of shit that really makes me want to punch a realtor in the face.
