GM Takes it a Step Further for Employees, Seems Ungrateful of Federal Bailout Loans
According to this post on NPR, GM gives about 8,000 of their workers free cars every six months and those cars get free gas. This is the same company that has just received $13 Billion in taxpayer loans to avoid bankruptcy and is asking for another $16 Billion more.
Ex-GM Employee Rob Kleinbaum states:
“It’s a really highly valued perk,” Kleinbaum says of the program. “It’s feels kind of fun. You get to drive a new car every three months. You never have to pay for it. Gasoline is always free.”
NPR continues quoting him here:
Kleinbaum says continuing to provide cars and gas sends the wrong message.
“This is much like when the CEOs flew their airplanes to Washington, begging for money,” he says. “It’s not as insulting as that.”
I don’t see that big of a problem for GM employees to have certain perks, but I think much like Kleinbaum. When you are begging the tax payers of the United States for money, you need to cut redundant costs so that the money isn’t going to non-necessity items.

Bethesda Pulls “The Pitt” FO3 Expansion
Bethesda was forced to pull the new Fallout 3 expansion, The Pitt, from the Xbox Live Marketplace today due to “extensive bugs”. According to this Game|Life article, they’re working on fixing it as soon as possible.
Speaking of the 360, has anyone here flashed one with a Lite On drive? I’m looking to flash mine sometime in the next few days.

IPREDator
It looks like The Pirate Bay and its captain, Peter Sunde, are at it again. This time, they’re unveiling a new anonymous access service called IPREDator. It’s basically a VPN service but they don’t store any user data. Too fucking cool.

World of Goo Producer on DRM
World of Goo co-creator Ron Carmel called DRM a waste of time (and money) at this year’s GDC keynote. To be precise, he said, “Anything that is of interest gets cracked, and the cracked version ends up having a better user experience than the legit version because you don’t have to input in some 32-character serial number.”
I couldn’t agree more. DRM is a complete waste of time and resources AND it’s annoying as shit.
DVD Flick
Ever needed to burn a video file to a DVD that you can play in a standard DVD player only to find that it’s a giant pain in the ass? Not anymore! Check out DVD Flick. It makes burning files to playable DVD discs quick and simple. I’ve already tested it on several file types. It works remarkably well.
