I can’t help but watch Fox News clips sometimes. It’s like watching The Jerry Springer Show. It’s a bunch of fake bullshit but you can’t help yourself. In the clip below, Shepard Smith gets all bent out of shape over the fact that CIA operatives tortured foreign prisoners under the Bush administration.
Anyone who actually believes that we’ve never tortured prisoners of war needs a reality check. We’ve absolutely tortured people. There’s irrefutable proof in our own history books. Waterboarding isn’t even the worst of the things that we’ve done to people.
The fact that people like Shepard and Bill O’Reilly even have television shows is maddening. But it’s all good for ratings, I suppose.

Did you even watch the video?
He wasn’t denying torture was used.
He said “This is America, we don’t torture!”
He didn’t mean literally, he meant “we shouldn’t torture in this country.”
I like this website, but I can’t understand the libs that run it; looking for anything to bash fox news.
Do you guys feel fox news is any worse than msnbc?
Mr. Pink might. I, on the other hand, don’t much trust any news outlet more than another. Fox News might have more than its fair share of douchebags (Bill O’Reilly et al), but that doesn’t necessarily make CNN or MSNBC better than them.
That post we had awhile back about how just about everything that was reported about the Columbine High School shootings was false is a great example of the news media being sensationalist ratings-whores than trustworthy news sources.
There is no “news” on Fox News. It’s a talk show network. The same goes for MSNBC and most of the other major news networks on television. I don’t watch news on TV. I just catch clips every now and then online that make me laugh, like this one. There are more clips of Shepard Smith that I could post related to this segment. During a commercial break he was on the verge of tears screaming, “This is America! We do not fucking torture!” He wasn’t saying that we “shouldn’t” torture. He was saying that we don’t. Period.
Shepard Smith, Bill O’Reilly, Rush Limbaugh, Glenn Beck, Keith Olbermann… the list goes on. None of them report the facts. They’re all agenda-driven hacks who do what their network executives tell them to do. I know this because I used to WORK at a big media company. I put in two and a half years before I got fed up with the way things operate in the news industry. I resigned late last year and never looked back.
As far as being a “lib”, you couldn’t be further from accurate. I’m neither a liberal nor a conservative. I think Obama is doing a terrible job as President right now. I think John McCain got screwed. I think Bush was the biggest mistake this country has ever made. The only good thing Clinton did during his administration was keeping the economy going strong. I think this country needs to abandon the party system altogether. It’s broken and, in fact, was never meant to be in the first place. I don’t believe that the war in Iraq has done a damn thing for us other than get a bunch of idiots who thought that they were actually out there fighting for our freedoms killed. I think we should take Afghanistan and Iran out of the game completely. I think we should let the big banks deal with their own problems, the American auto industry should be left for dead, and we should start trying and executing anyone and everyone who was involved with this whole torture scandal.
As you can see, there’s a bit of everything mixed up in there. We could debate this for hours but I have updates to post and honestly don’t give enough of a fuck to continue with this silly little conversation. The video speaks for itself.
It’s pretty clear he is against torture.
And not denying it.
He said if America tortures, he wants off this train.
Maybe this video will help YOU understand.

You post videos of O’ Reilly being pwnd and saying something stupid.
But I don’t think you can admit when you look foolish.
Apparently that video owns you.
BTW I agree with much of your politics; I’m a Libertarian.
Posting my name as Mr. Bush’s Right Hand Man/Crony was just sarcasm.
WTF? If they are saying that torturing prisoners of war is a crime then why don’t they try to say that killing people during war is a crime? These types of people are what is wrong with america.
