Apparently, game publisher Konami has abandoned plans to release a video game based on the Iraq War called Six Days In Fallujah. They did so under pressure from military families and from veteran’s groups. You can read more on the initial announcement in this Yahoo! News story.
In an interesting twist, you can also read in this Kotaku story how the game’s developer, Atomic Games, reacted. Apparently, they had no idea that this was coming. They are, however, clearly going to search for another publisher as they’d still like to release the game.
It sounds to me like Konami is just a giant group of pansies.
