WHO: Swine Flu Is Unstoppable
The World Health Organization has deemed the Swine Flu [H1N1] “unstoppable”. It recommends that everyone stock up on the vaccination when it comes available sometime around September. Of course, we could all be dead by then.
The Telegraph states:
Health workers should be at the top of the list for vaccination since they will be in high demand as people continue to fall sick, she added.
Countries would be free to decide on their national priorities, but other groups should include pregnant women and anyone over six months old who has chronic health problems, the WHO official said.
Particular attention would have to be paid to children since they are considered “amplifiers” of the spread of the virus, especially when gathered in schools, Kieny added.
More than 90,000 swine flu cases have been reported worldwide, including 429 deaths, the most recent WHO numbers from last week show.

Why No Banners?
A lot of you commented on my post from a few weeks ago about placing banner ads on the site. Some of you noticed that we had banners running for a few hours that day before I decided to take them down. I’ve gotten a few emails asking what happened and a few others asking whether the ads are coming back any time soon. I wanted to give you guys a quick update.
In short, the answer is no, banners aren’t coming back. Why? No particular reason. I simply decided that banner ads have no place on WTC right now – or ever, really. I have plenty of other ways of making money. There’s no reason for me to bombard you all with that kind of crap.
Thanks for continuing to be loyal to the site. You’re all awesome.

Sam Raimi to Direct WarCraft Movie
For those of you who missed the news yesterday, Blizzard and Legendary Pictures announced that there is in fact a WarCraft movie in the works.
Sam Raimi, the man behind the Spider-Man film series, is at the helm on the project with support from Atlas Entertainment. Atlas was the group behind The Dark Knight. As if that weren’t encouraging news on its own, they’re also saying that Chris Metzen, one of the people responsible for the original WarCraft story, is also involved as a co-producer.
Check out the full details in the official press release.
Prince of Persia: The Movie
It appears that Jerry Bruckheimer is working on a Prince of Persia movie out of The Sands of Time. It’s due out in May, 2010. He has Ben Kingsley on board to play Nizam!
The most interesting thing about this project, however, is the fact that Prince Dastan will be played by Jake Gyllenhaal, as you can see in the official movie poster to the left.
This is either going to be the best video game based movie ever made or a total flop. Only time will tell, I suppose.
