We stood in line outside of Best Buy for a total of about thirty minutes to get our copy at midnight this morning. I’m running on four hours of sleep right now, having played through the first five levels. If not for work, I would have played through in a single session.
Believe the hype. This game is incredible – far better and more engrossing than the first. The level design and new mechanics are absolutely stellar. However, when I say, “Believe the hype,” I mean it – even the bit about the ultra-violent airport level. It is not for the faint of heart.
More thoughts to come in a full review once I complete the campaign this evening.
I got through the first three levels on Veteran difficulty before taking a break and playing some multi-player with mates. Despite the confusing lay-out in the beginning, it’s a quick thing to grasp, and very fun.

Also, Mr. Pink, I’ve heard that, as Roach, you get betrayed by Shepherd and play as Soap for the remainder of the game, -and- Captain Price comes back. Can you confirm/deny?

I saw a video of the airport level. I was like… seriously? That is pretty intense.
