Full Circle

As you can see, I’ve restored the site to its (almost) original state. I kept a few things from the second and third iteration, such as the enhanced site search tools. I’ve also deleted the second and third iterations of the site from the server. Completely and permanently.

There are several reasons why I chose to do this. I realized that “simple” is what made this site a success. I also realized that “simple” is what made this site easy – and fun – to maintain. That old saying about not fixing something when it’s not broken is true. I spent four hours today digging through server logs, trying to figure out how to put a stop to the “GET” request issue. I narrowed it down to two possible solutions: completely re-code version 3.0 to eliminate a couple of nagging security issues or blow it the fuck out of the water and take it back to the old school, which is what most of you seem to prefer, anyway.

So, there you have it. We’ve come full circle.

I guess things don’t always work out the way you plan them.

Much much better. Especially without the banner ad, and the rest of them being on the lower part of the page.

Exactly as anonymous, I’ve been a sort of silent supporter. Love the site, and the simplicity of it. Well done!

    good move there

seeing an explicit banner on the main page was making me access WTC only from home, now i can browse from wherever

Fantastic! glad you went back to the simple look. don’t get me wrong, the 3.0 version you had was nice, but simpler is better. keep up the great work!!!

Donating member here, like the old school look, also.

Oh, there was one improvement in the newer versions,
it was much nicer having the VIP login link not opening in a new window/tab automatically.
