It’s been a long time since I wrote a review of an electronic album but it’s also been a long time since I’ve heard one worth reviewing. Lost Orchestra, perhaps better known as 16 Bit Lolita’s, turned that around for me last week with their release of Bodywarmer, a double disc featuring Aad and Peter as both 16BL and LO.

Disc one is exclusively 16BL tunes, including Tune Duties, one of their best tracks to date. Disc two is all about their Lost Orchestra side project. Disc one is full of the fat beats and heavy hooks that made 16BL famous, whereas disc two is more on the level of mellow flow. Both sides are solid and will remain on rotation in my “chillout” playlist for months to come. If you like music that’s intricate, thoughtful, and smooth, then you really need to give this one a listen.
