2012
I was unimpressed, especially given the hype.
In essence, it’s a badly done slapstick mash-up of Armageddon and The Day After Tomorrow. The visuals were impressive and Woody Harrelson was good for a few laughs but I otherwise found myself looking at the clock on my phone and wondering how the producer expected me to believe that John Cusack and his family could cheat death so many times. Seriously – there were at least a dozen scenes where I was sitting there thinking, “No. He simply wouldn’t survive that. Period. Nobody would.”
Of course, there were lots of whiz-bang effects and the audio was fantastic. It just wasn’t worth a damn story-wise. The dialogue wasn’t great, there wasn’t a lot of character development, and the “science” upon which the whole thing was based was absolute bullshit at best.
If you’re not planning on seeing it in theaters, then skip this one… unless you happen to have a godly home theater system.
Console Controller Ornaments
Digits, a designer also known as Dave Rollins, runs a store on Ponoko and he’s selling some truly awesome acrylic console controller ornaments for people to hang on their Christmas trees. They’re only $20 apiece! That’s a truly awesome price for such a unique holiday adornment.

Mr. Black: I’m going to start a company kind of like Carfax.
Mr. Black: But it will be for women instead of cars.
