Seven Employees Sue Walmart Over Security Camera Installed In Bathroom
Seven current and former Walmart employees are suing the retail giant over a surveillance camera found in a unisex bathroom at one of their Pennsylvania stores – the Easton store, to be precise. The camera was installed by two employees in the store’s loss prevention department. Lawyers for three of the people involved in the lawsuit claim that they were terminated for complaining about the camera.
A Walmart spokesman claims that the employees responsible for installing the camera have been terminated from the company. No one seems to know how long the camera was there, however, and there’s no telling whether anyone recorded anything.

Holiday Waste
I’ve always wondered how much garbage people manage to pump out during the holidays. This graphic paints the picture and it’s a grim one to say the least.
The figure that really threw me for a loop was the number of Christmas trees that people buy every year: 50,000,000, of which roughly three fifths end up in a landfill. (I’m guilty of that this year, actually. I feel bad about it, in retrospect.)
Good lord, that’s a lot of wood. It’s a small wonder that we haven’t somehow completely run out of fir trees in the United States because of Christmas alone.
We do our very best to be environmentally friendly at our house – recycleable materials are used wherever possible. Newspapers and paper bags from grocery stores make great eco-friendly wrapping materials, if you can get your hands on them.

Out of Context #0190
Mr. Blue: I just texted, “I want to pound you like a wild animal,” to my Aunt Pam instead of Ashley.
Mr. Blue: Fuck my fat ass thumbs.
Mr. Blue: And fuck alpha sorting.
10 Years of BlackBerry
Can you believe that it’s already been a decade since Research In Motion unleashed the BlackBerry on the world? Chris Ziegler of Engadget wrote a great article summarizing all of the ups and downs that the world’s most popular smartphone has seen. The photos are particularly interesting. I’ve got a Curve right now and hate to go anywhere without it. (I even post to and comment on WTC from it, sometimes.)
Server Move
You may notice some site performance issues and possibly a brief downtime later today. I’m moving a substantial portion of the site over to a new dedicated server to resolve some longstanding internal administration problems. I apologize for the inconvenience but this unfortunately has to happen today.
14 Blades
Set during the time of the Ming Dynasty (1368 to 1644), 14 Blades is an upcoming martial arts film that tells the tale of an elite group of assassins known as the Imperial Guard. It was directed by Daniel Lee and stars kung fu master Donnie Yen.
It’s violent. It’s fast paced. It’s a kung fu movie.
