Blazing Angels 2: Secret Missions of WWII

blazing_angels_2It’s not often that I shine the spotlight on an older game but I feel compelled to bring every Xbox 360 loving WTC reader’s attention to Blazing Angels 2: Secret Missions of WWII. I picked this one up several months ago (with a copy of the first Blazing Angels, which is a decent game itself) but didn’t start playing it until last week. In fact, my backlog of 360 games that I need to play is so long that I hadn’t even popped this one into the console, yet.

Boy, do I wish that I’d started playing this one sooner. It’s absolutely fucking awesome.

Granted, there aren’t a lot of flying games on the 360 or consoles in general for this game to compete with. I mean, let’s face it. The last truly great aerial action game was Crimson Skies. However, that doesn’t change the fact that Blazing Angels 2 is a fun, fast paced, surprisingly addictive game. It has all the right elements – intelligent mission design, a point-based upgrade system, easy and responsive controls, and A.I. that keeps you on your toes without making you want to throw your controller.

And the best part? You can find this one used for $15 or less.
