Google Takes a Step Toward World Domination
Posted by Mr. PinkAfter years of anticipation and rumors, Google unveiled the Nexus One yesterday.
But they didn’t just unveil a phone. They also pulled back the curtains on google.com/phone, their revolutionary new online storefront where you pick the phone first and your carrier and data plan second. That’s right – every single phone that Google sells now and in the future will be fully unlocked and usable on any major cell network.
As if that weren’t cool enough, the Nexus One looks like it could easily outpace the iPhone, Android, and the BlackBerry without breaking a sweat. Of course, at a staggering $529, I’d expect it to mop the floor and do my laundry.

the android isn’t a phone, it’s the operating system that various google phones run. including the Nexus One.
also, upon the release of the Nexus One, Google’s stock dropped 2%. they’re approaching the cellular market at a weird and unstable angle, one that is almost bashing their own previous products and alienating their user base.
the lack of uniformity in their products is a hugely detrimental issue, and one that will only confuse and dismay their owners.

The G1 failed miserably and the Nexus One will fail just as badly. iPhone or Blackberry for $100 or a Nexus for $530? Yeah no, I’m going to stick with my iPhone.

the g1 was a very prototypish phone, the nexus one on the other hand is very polished. and how is it fair to compare an unsubsidized price to a subsidized one? look at that cell phone comparison chart thats out there and you will get a more realistic comparison then FUD.
