Apple iPad: March, 2010
The rumors were true. Steve Jobs underwhelmed the world earlier today with the announcement of the Apple iPad. It goes on sale in March at a starting price of $499. There will be several models to choose from – at increasingly ridiculous price points, of course. That’s the Apple way!
Really, this could have been the most revolutionary gadget to hit the street since the iPod. Instead, Jobs gives us an over-sized iPhone. It even runs on the iPhone operating system. Who would want to buy such a useless piece of gear? The hardware specs up against the cost are just… sad. The only redeeming quality is the inclusion of 3G into a model to be released in April. If not for that, this thing would have absolutely nothing going for it.
I’m sticking with my Asus netbook, thanks.

Rumor: Apple Tablet to Be Called the “iPad”
There’s a heavy rumor floating around that the new Apple tablet will be called the iPad. I really hope this one isn’t true. I don’t think I could ever own a device that sounds like a feminine hygiene product – no matter how cool and useful it may be.
