The city of Toronto is trying to bring video games to the Toronto Public Library, according to this article on The Star. Administrators are seeking $300,000 in funding that would allow them to put up to 150 titles in circulation at 38 branches. The funding would also cover programs designed to bring gaming centers into the libraries themselves.
Maybe Canadians aren’t so bad, after all!

Video games = Interactive stories
I like the idea
funny, this very concept have existed in Denmark (yeah, im a dane) since the mid 90′ies….works like a charm btw.
Well, the first book I ever read (outside of school, for my own amusement) was Star Wars: Shadows of the Empire, which I got into after playing the Nintendo 64 game of the same name. Maybe not such a bad idea….
Even funnier, this has been in place in other places in Ontario for over a year now and been getting the libraries good money.
I live in a suburb of chicago and my library carries video games. free to rent or a week at a time but $2 a day over due fee. They have wii, ps3, and xbox 360 games. they have an awesome selection and get the newest and biggest titles within a few weeks of release usually. it’s awesome.
