According to PopCap Games, a 56 year old steel worker from California named Mike Leyde is the first person in the world to “beat” their insanely popular Bejeweled 2.

His score? A mere 2,147,483,647 points.

It took him 2,205 hours, 51 minutes to collect 4,872,229 jewels

Bungie + Activision = Unholy Alliance

Bungie, the company that brought us the entire Halo series, has partnered with publishing giant Activision under a ten year exclusive worldwide publishing deal. Bungie has also announced that they’re working on a new “action game universe” – and it sounds like it may be some sort of subscription-based FPS MMO. Whatever they’re working on, it will be available across all platforms.

This is huge news. Bungie is one of the most successful game developers in history and Activision is known for throwing millions of dollars into budgets. Considering the recent Infinity Ward debacle, I wouldn’t be surprised at all if Activision doesn’t turn them into their new flagship to compete with Respawn Entertainment.
