Red Faction “Arcade” Game Coming Prior to the Release of Red Faction: Armageddon

Danny Bilson, the Vice President of Core Games at THQ, has confirmed that the company plans on releasing a Red Faction “arcade” game on XBLA and PSN prior to the release of Red Faction: Armageddon next year. The arcade title should be available “three or four months” prior to the release of Armageddon. Bilson also mentioned a Red Faction themed television show in his interview with CVG and he confirmed that similar efforts would be made with the Saints Row IP, for which a third game is currently under development.

Black Rock Studio, Developer of Split/Second, Already Working on a New Racing Game

Black Rock Studio, the game developer responsible for PURE and the (very) recently released Split/Second, is already working on another racing game. No details are available at this time but the company is looking to hire a Technical Art Director for the project.

Global Agenda Goes “Free to Play” Before the Subscription Model Even Launches

In a surprise move, Global Agenda developer Hi-Rez Studios announced today that the game will not in fact require a subscription – meaning that all of the otherwise “premium” content is now free to all who purchase the game. To celebrate, the company is currently running a discount on Steam.

I played Global Agenda quite a bit at launch but dropped quickly due to a general lack of content and a slew of annoying bugs. However, now that the game has been out for a while and the developer appears to have resolved a lot of the problems, I may give it another shot.
