Airshow Catastrophe
As you can see in the photo below, fighter jet pilot Capt. Brian Bews ejected from his CF-18 fighter jet a bit late during a practice flight at the Lethbridge County Airport on Friday, July 23 for the weekend airshow in Lethbridge, Alberta, Canada.
Canadian Forces Capt. Nicole Meszaros told CBC News that, “He is alive and we believe right now that his injuries are non-life-threatening.”
I’m guessing that this guy shat the entire contents of his intestines as he ejected.

No Motorized Couches Allowed at BYU
We did a lot of awesome shit when I was in college. However, we were not this awesome.
I’m guessing that these guys see more vagina than a gynecologist.

Mila’s Daydreams
I ran across a really creative photo blog called Mila’s Daydreams. It’s basically a collection of photos of an infant girl named Mila whose mother has staged “dreams” for her to lay in while she naps.
This is one of my favorites.
TRON: Legacy Theatrical Trailer
The theatrical trailer for the sequel to TRON has landed. Is it going to live up to the original?

Limbo – First Impressions
I sat down for about an hour last night to play through a bit of Limbo, the first of five Summer of Arcade 2010 releases on Xbox Live Arcade. It wasn’t at the top of my list of games to buy, so I started with the demo. I ended up grabbing the full game within an hour.
The game, which was designed/developed by an indy game company from Denmark called Playdead, is a visually stunning (seriously – the art style of this game is gorgeous) platform adventure in which you play the role of a small boy who wakes up in the middle of the woods. You may or may not be stuck in some sort of dream – but whatever it is, it’s dangerous.
I have to say right out of the gate that if you don’t enjoy puzzle games, you will not like Limbo. I got stuck within the first ten minutes because I wasn’t paying attention to my surroundings. It can be a frustrating experience if you don’t enjoy trying to sort things out with no real help – not even tips or hints – from the game. If you don’t mind a challenge and you appreciate unique art styles, however, then this is a game that you really need to take a look at.
If nothing else, at least check out the demo!

Al-Qaeda Playable in New Medal of Honor Game
There’s some controversy surrounding EA’s decision to make Al-Qaeda playable in the new Medal of Honor game. It’s unclear whether there will be any single player elements that allow you to play as a terrorist but Al-Qaeda skins are definitely part of the multiplayer component.
Personally, I don’t see the issue. Activision and Infinity Ward caught serious flack for the No Russian mission in Modern Warfare 2, which was perhaps the most visceral and violent level ever created for a video game. Granted, that was based on fiction and this new Medal of Honor title appears to be based largely on true, current events. However, that doesn’t change the fact that it’s a game.
