Verizon CEO Ivan Seidenberg announced plans today to eliminate unlimited data plans sometime in the next four to six months, instead forcing customers onto tiered plans. Even if you have a contract, you’re shit out of luck.
In other words, it’s time for me to find a new cell carrier.

Fuck Verizon and AT&T im stickin with T-Mobile sir!
it depends on where you live really.. almost any cell phone provider has good service.. depending on your life style, or city… which i will not ask about…. I switched to sprint, which we have a nextel tower at work, which… apparently doesnt use the same signal as sprint… so.. i dont get good service at work, where my verizon buddies do.. sooo.. but i have unlimited everything on 3 phones for 150$ ..
not to mention I was with verizon for 10 years, and asked them to matched sprints deal, and the person on the phone laughed and replied ‘ we don’t have to do that, I’ll offer to cancel your service, do you want that?’ … I replied, not yet … about 30 mins later, I was at sprint getting a new phone and my number ported… only to get a call about a week later, asking why I left… lemme tell you, that was a very very fun conversation.. very pointless.
Bunch of whiners. Always thinking of yourselves and not the executives. Mercedes don’t pay for themselves, you know!
Unfortunately, this tiered model is looking to become the norm.
It’s just a matter of time before they apply this to our home connections.
@ Beta Ray – AT&T has already started the tier platform for their BVoIP (U-Verse) services. $25 per month for 4 hours of talk time or $35 for unlimited.
This is why I think I like Sprint. I was on Nextel for years (too cheap to get a new phone) but I finally switched to Sprint and I’m happy.. wish my phone was a touch screen though, but going to be fixing that soon.
Looks like I’m moving to Sprint.
