Defiance
I’ve always been a big fan of Daniel Craig. I think he’s the best James Bond the series has had in years and the rest of his films (Layer Cake, in particular) are top notch.
Needless to say, I was intrigued when I found his relatively unsuccessful World War II action drama Defiance while looking for something decent to watch on Netflix Watch Instantly the other night.
Defiance is set during the occupation of Belarus by Nazi Germany. It tells the story of the four Bielski brothers,a band of forest dwelling Jews who defied the Nazi regime and saved more than 1,000 lives in the process.
It’s a two hour mix of drama, action, and interesting twists. It wasn’t a masterpiece by any stretch of the imagination but as far as historical fiction goes, it was a damn good movie. It’s a bit odd to watch an Englishman play a Jewish man but if you can put that aside, you’re in for a good show.

Pennsylvania Police Searching for Dino Humper
Police in Pennsylvania are searching for a man who exposed himself to two teenage girls at a park in Chester County and then humped a large plastic dinosaur in front of them.
It isn’t clear whether the dinosaur is a “permanent fixture” in the park or a prop that the man took to the park with him. The girls describe him as short, Hispanic, and between 20 and 30 years old. He fled on a bicycle.

It’s almost that time of year again! Halloween is my favorite holiday for the simple fact that girls like to use it as an excuse to dress like complete sluts. And why not? It’s not as though they don’t have a wide range of costumes to choose from!

The Breathing Earth
I ran across a simulation called The Breathing Earth this morning. It’s a visualization designed to give you an idea of how many people there really are on our planet and how much carbon dioxide we release into our atmosphere.
