Texas Sends Amazon $269 Million Tax Bill

Amazon.com says that the state of Texas sent them a bill for uncollected sales tax last month to the tune of $269 million. Several states that collect sales tax from residents have considered slapping the retail giant with tax bills as a way to close huge budget deficits. Of course, Amazon’s execs basically told them to blow it out their ass.

It should be interesting to see how this pans out.

Yeah, nothing’ll come out of that. Amazon has more money and better lawyers than most of the states in the union at this point.
