Minecraft Biomes

Yes, I realize that this is my third post about Minecraft today. This, however, is big news. In the Halloween update this weekend, Notch is adding biomes to the game to add new levels of complexity to terrain, weather, and the general look of the game.

^This, dear god, this. Although it will need a good dual or quad core, at upwards of 4GB to run completely lag-free. If you want a good example of Minecraft SMP in Alpha done right, check out singaming.com. It was previously one of the top servers until the IP changed. Mostly legit server(No spawning items, but mods help cuboid flat areas), gold is used as currency, plenty of anti-grief measures, and great mods.

One of the best servers. And it’s just run by some random 18 year old in New York. I think WTC could surely outdo it!

You know I’ve never played this game and probably never will because it seems a bit like it’s for autistic people or obsessives or second life types… but I just watched a couple videos and saw this

brian – I thought the same thing before trying the game.

In all honesty, it’s just a digital version of LEGO. That’s the main draw for most people – the fact that you can build anything that you want to build.
