Doesnt look so good to me. Looks like a movie Ive seen before. Comeron says he likes to do these movies because then he basically gets the funds for diving expeditions. This definitely looks like the case here, and maybe the Quality of film suffered because of it. Guess we will wait to see, first impression though isnt good. Looks like a dvd release from a more amateur director.

Looks like it was filmed by college students with a home movie camera.
Cameron’s just the “Executive Producer”, a title which often means he had nothing more to do with the movie than letting people put his name on it to increase publicity.
At any rate, it might be worth seeing. I would really like to see The Abyss in super high-quality 3D, and this might be as close as you can get.
