A fourth Assassin’s Creed game is due out before the end of 2011 according to Geoffroy Sardin, the chief of marketing and sales for Ubisoft in Europe – and Ezio will not be the protagonist this time around. In fact, that game won’t even take place in the same region or time period. In fact, the rumor is that it will take place 200 years after Brotherhood.
This really isn’t surprising news considering the sales numbers for Brotherhood. It’s done a remarkable job since launch a few weeks ago considering that it had Black Ops and Gran Turismo 5 to contend with – not to mention Need For Speed: Hot Pursuit.
it will actually be assassin’s creed 3. yes, it will be the fourth entry into the series, but brotherhood was a spin-off. not a direct sequel. jade raymond, the director of the first game, said that assassin’s creed will be a trilogy. so the upcoming assassin’s creed 3 will, naturally, take place in new a new environment with a new character, to complete the story arch.
I’m not sure how I feel about it. Didn’t they say they’d have two years before the new one came out from the release of AC2? The fact that they’re going to be rushing to get it out in the next year kind of makes me hope they don’t lose the quality. Plus, they haven’t given it enough time to hear a good proper feedback on the additions to Brotherhood yet from anyone besides the mostly hardcore fans who are going to give it mostly glowing reviews on both sides, so is it going to end up being just AC2 with a new time period?
Still, set in the 1700s… Anyone else hoping for the Colonies on America?

I wouldn’t call Brotherhood a spin off,it is a direct sequel because its a continuation of the story.Saying spin off would indicate its not important to the story as a whole.
I despise people who begin their sentences with “no its not”.
Brotherhood is 2.5, nothing more. It goes more in depth, while AC3 will bring us more further in the storyline.
