Canada Adopting Metered Internet Use Model
Internet users across Canada are up in arms this week over a decision by the Canadian Radio-Telecommunications Commission (CRTC) to allow Usage Based Billing (UBB) by Internet service providers. The move allows providers across the continent to slice down the amount of available bandwidth per user to such a small amount that even a casual user runs the risk of incurring overage fees.
Considering that Netflix just got its start up north, this is going to turn into an ugly fight between consumers and providers.
50% of Straight Men Are Cool With the Idea of Their Significant Other Cheating With Another Girl
Reuters is reporting on a new study showing that 50% of straight men polled would be willing to forgive their significant other – as long as she cheated with a girl and not a guy.
Personally, I’d only be cool with it if she apologized with a video in hand.

This is Antoine Montant, the world’s leading “speed flyer”. He basically jumps from the top of a mountain with nothing but a snow suit, a pair of skis, and a parachute.
Man Survives 1,000 Foot Fall
British climber Adam Potter fell more than 1,000 feet down the side of a mountain face in the Scottish Highlands called Sgurr Choinnich Mor. When the Royal Navy sent a rescue helicopter to locate him, he was found standing on his own power and reading a map. He gets my vote for bad-ass of the century.

Google Engineer Turns New York Subway Into Instrument
A Google engineer named Alexander Chen used a map of the MTA subway system in New York City to build an incredible HTML5 powered musical instrument. I opened it in its own window over an hour ago. It’s strangely soothing.
