Maggie Gallagher Speaks Out Against Anal Sex

The woman at right is Maggie Gallagher. She serves as the president of the Institute for Marriage and Public Policy, a group that lobbies on marriage law issues.

You may know her as the woman who took tens of thousands of dollars from the Bush administration in return for her support of the ridiculous “healthy marriage” initiative.

This past week, however, she made herself Internet famous for another reason: Gallagher hates anal sex. With a passion. Here’s what she had to say on the subject.

Anal sex is painful, unsanitary, unsatisfying for women, and creates unique risks for serious physical diseases (if you doubt me, go read the Wikipedia entry on the subject) because the anus is not designed for sexual intercourse, increasing the risk of torn flesh and the intermingling of bodily fluids — blood, semen, fecal matter — that can spread an astonishing variety of diseases. The female partner is far more at risk than the man in these encounters. This should be a feminist issue.

Sounds to me like Mrs. Gallagher (if she’s even actually married, which has been disputed in the past) has had some bad run-ins with elephant peckers.

Based on all the ridiculous things she’s said in the past, it seems to me that she’s never even seen herself nude, let alone another person.

I took her advice and read the entire entry at Wikipedia. I have to say that it is more interesting than offensive. I really wonder how much this woman has actually studied anal sex? I can imagine it’s probably on par with the amount of study Sarah Palin commits to foreign policy. Nevertheless, Maggie is obviously cherry picking (no pun intended) her talking points and putting a classic right-leaning spin on the subject. I will not argue that anal sex is a high risk sexual activity prone to health risks. The same could be said about many things: mountain climbing for example. However, I do believe she needs to mind her own business and perhaps go back to Wikipedia and finish reading the entire citation. From what I gather, there’s a lot of women out there that find anal sex worthwhile. I find it oddly curious: her picture reminds me of a person that would actually enjoy anal sex. Hmmm . . .

Probably not even the usual pecker back there. Some women scream bloody murder if you LICK back there, because they’re still on the whole “it’s dirty” hangup. Hell, I know girls that would think NORMAL sex is a Feminist Issue since… well, obvious info is obvious.

Does she think oral sex is a no-no as well, since the mouth isn’t intended for sexual intercourse? Or the hands? Or breasts? Or armpits? Feet? …. just throwing those out there. She just needs to be strapped down and experience a Cleveland Steamer coupled with a dirty Sanchez. Then I’ll be happy to reconsider her asinine opinion.

The only thing I’m sure of in this lonely ol’ life is that ladies love it in the crap cannon! All you need to know are the Cliff’s Notes to her obtuse rambling: “Anal sex . . . unique risks . . . anus . . . torn flesh . . . blood, semen, fecal matter [.]“

Dan Savage has been saying this for years… the abortion issue that Maggie Gallagher talks about is really an attempt to control our sex life. If they get abortion they’ll fight to control what we do in bed. Personally, what I do with my partner is between me and her… and all my friends that i tell it to the next day.

Homelessness, starvation, war all over and this is her cause! Butt-sex!
It just makes me wonder who put it to her backside when she was young. Whomever it was, he definately left a distasteful impression. Maybe something happened at a slumber party. :)

    Funny, in 1982 she earned a B.A.

  8. Archibald says:

I’d fuck her butt. Fuck it like it were the last butt I’d ever fuck. I would impregnate that ass.

Anal sex as a feminist issue? Ridiculous. The only women who are afraid of anal sex are the ones who haven’t tried it or have been with a partner who doesn’t know what they’re doing (and doesn’t care to learn). And that has more to do with a woman’s relationship choices than their sexual interests. Hell, I’ve known women who prefer anal! Sure, there can be dangers, just like any form of sexual encounter, and that’s why you take precautions (condoms, lube, STD testing, etc.). Personally, I find the possibility of procreating via vaginal sex to be a far greater danger (both in measure of probability and level of horrifying prospectives), yet I do that way more often than anal. And even beyond all of the post-natal impacts to one’s lifestyle, being pregnant is much like voluntarily housing a parasite and can carry many of the same risks.

Not to mention, vilifying anal sex for women will lead to vilifying it for gay men, and that has much greater impacts on homosexual rights.
