Special Greg Nails World’s First Special Flip On a BMX

This is Special Greg of Nitro Circus fame landing the world’s first Special Flip on a BMX. The landing was a bit sketchy, to say the least, but he stayed upright. It counts.

Montana Lawmaker Opposes DUI Laws

Montana lawmaker Alan Hale (R-Basin) spoke in front of the House a few days ago to express his opposition to all DUI laws on the grounds that they are destroying the state’s small businesses (namely taverns and bars) and its time-honored “way of life”.

It’s worth mentioning that a.) this guy is a retard and b.) he happens to own a tavern.

Hawken – Gameplay

An awesome looking gameplay video has emerged for Hawken, the indie mech based shooter from developer Adhesive Games. I posted the trailer for this one a few weeks ago. I’m really stoked to give this a whirl when it comes out. I miss MechWarrior.

Man Arrested at Dulles Airport, Ingested Four Pounds of Heroin

A 44 year old man was arrested at Dulles International Airport for trying to smuggle nearly four pounds of heroin into the country – inside himself.

Ebodor Okenwa swallowed 88 pellets of the narcotic, which police said was worth about $125,000 on the street. He was pulled out of line by Customs officials who thought he was acting strange. Okenwa was carrying anti-diarrheal medication. He was taken to a nearby hospital, where x-rays revealed what he was carrying.

The best part? They had to wait around for him to poop out the evidence.

Amazon vs. The Music Industry: One Must Fall

Ars Technica published an interesting piece detailing the coming war between the music industry and Amazon following the launch of their incredible new Cloud Player service. As expected, several big labels – including Sony BMG – are claiming that the platform is a violation of copyright law.

Amazon isn’t taking those accusations lying down, however. In fact, company spokesperson Cat Griffin came out with both guns blazing.

“Cloud Player is an application that lets customers manage and play their own music. It’s like any number of existing media management applications. We do not need a license to make Cloud Player available.”

This will undoubtedly end up in court. It should be interesting to see how it all pans out.

Apple iPad Generated Nearly 100% of Tablet Sales In 2010

According to a new sales report from Gartner, the first-gen Apple iPad was responsible for almost all of the world’s tablet sales last year.

Of the $9,600,000,000 in worldwide revenue, Apple claimed $9,566,000 for themselves. In other words, the rest of the tech industry made only $34 million in revenue.

Of course, you can expect those numbers to be far different this year. However, given the sales performance of the iPad 2 thus far I’d be willing to bet that they’re going to emerge victorious once again with at least 90% of the market cornered.
