MSI Introduces GX680 Gaming Laptop

MSI is turning up the heat on the mobile gaming market, both figuratively and literally, with the unveiling of their new GX680 gaming laptop.

Features up to 16GB of DDR3, the GX680 runs on an Intel Core I7 and a 1GB GeForce GT 555M capable of 1080p output, and they packed in a pair of 750GB hard drives. They also tossed in some Blu-ray love for good measure, rounding out an altogether badass machine.

No word on price yet but you can expect it to be hefty.

Sony Accuses PS3 Hacker of Sabotaging Hard Drives and Fleeing to South America

Sony claimed in a court filing yesterday that PS3 hacker George Hotz sabotaged the hard drives that he was ordered by a judge to turn over and then fled to South America. Stewart Kellar, Hotz’s lawyer says that he simply didn’t provide them with the controller card for the drives initially but that he has since fully complied with the court’s orders.

As for fleeing the country, his lawyer refuses to comment other than to say that Hotz is working with the court every step of the way. It is a civil case, after all, so chances are he’s just taking a vacation – or intentionally trying to piss Sony off, which is more likely.

nVidia Unveils Dual GPU GTX 590

nVidia unveiled their answer to the Radeon HD 6990 today – the GeForce GTX 590. It’s a dual GPU card with 1,024 CUDA cores and 3GB of GDDR5 on board. It’s much slower than analysts were expecting, however, and failed to dethrone the Radeon in tests.

At $699, you’d do best to go with the 6990 for now if you’re planning to upgrade to the latest tech any time soon.
