Diablo III Entering Final Stages of Development
According to Jay Wilson, director for Diablo III, the game’s development team is in what he refers to as the “home stretch” and he seems to think that we may in fact have the game in our hands in time for Christmas this year. I can’t think of anything that I’d like to see more under the tree – except maybe a blonde and a redhead.

Xbox 360 and PS3 owners get their first taste of Red Faction: Armageddon on May 3rd according to the official Red Faction website.

Mods Coming to Minecraft
Mojang has finally decided how they’re going to handle user-made mods for Minecraft. In short, they’re going to release the full body of source code to the community, which can then do as it pleases. However, developers won’t be allowed to profit from their work in any way and Mojang reserves the right to implement good ideas a “real” features.
It seems a bit risky to me to release the source code instead of an API. Then again, Notch has already made tens of millions of dollars on the game and this will give people with the know-how to do it the ability to fix many of the bugs that remain in the game.

LucasArts Licenses Unreal Engine 3
Yesterday brought big news for fans of Star Wars video games! LucasArts has entered into a multi-year deal with Epic Games to license their Unreal Engine 3 technology for “multiple projects” due for release across several platforms.
No hard details are available just yet but the thought of another Jedi Knight game done in UE3 is enough to make me drool a bit.
