Apple to Give Students $200 iPad Credit With New Macs?

A source inside Apple told BGR that the company will announce an awesome new discount plan at this year’s WWDC for students who decide to purchase a new Mac – a free iPod Touch, $229 towards any other iPod product, or a $200 iPad discount.

Obviously, the iPad discount is the way to go. If you’re a student and you were looking at a Mac laptop, anyway, you might want to wait on your purchase!

So Apple’s found a way to compete with Microsoft’s Xbox deal with Dell and HP? Seems the battle goes on.

Meh, the avarage poor student only needs one laptop for all-round usage, so getting discount on a product that would basically replace that for most of the time, and makes you spend more money, doesn’t really make much sense.
What would be interesting is to buy a Macbook with a friend and split the discount, so you save 115 bucks each.

And of course it’s still Apple, so unless you value design so much, you’re never getting a bang for your buck. Nice to see their marketing scheme working though.
