After more than eight years of extreme ups and downs, Sony Online Entertainment and LucasArts announced today that the master servers for Star Wars Galaxies will go down for good later this year. December 15th, to be exact.
Good riddance. Bring on The Old Republic, already!
It should have been shut down years ago when they decided to completely re-tool the game. SOE has never had that great of a track record with any of its games and SWG was the biggest offender. That game was on extreme life support for the last 5 years easily. I’m frankly shocked that people were still paying to play that piece of shit.
