Hong Kong Seizes 800 Smuggled Elephant Tusks
Authorities in Hong Kong detained a man and seized nearly 800 elephant tusks weighing almost two tonnes. The illegal haul is valued at close to $1.7 million. The tusks were found concealed in a shipping container labeled for factory use by inspectors.
It’s believed that the 66 year old suspect was trying to get the shipment of tusks to China, where the demand for white ivory has surged in recent years.

Man Decapitates Himself After Fight With Wife
A man in Yorktown, Virginia decapitated himself after a fight with his wife yesterday.
Police arrived to find a burning trailer hitched to a white Ford Explorer. The man, who was in the driver’s seat of the vehicle at the time, refused to exit the vehicle. He had a rope wrapped around his neck at the time, which was tied to a tree near the vehicle.
He accelerated and… well… you can probably guess what happened, next.
Justice Department Sues AT&T to Block T-Mobile Merger
The United States Justice Department announced that they’ve filed an anti-trust lawsuit against AT&T this morning, aiming to halt their planned $39 billion merger with T-Mobile.
“The combination of AT&T and T-Mobile would result in tens of millions of consumers all across the United States facing higher prices, fewer choices and lower quality products for mobile wireless services,” said Deputy Attorney General James M. Cole.
