Origin EULA Includes Ridiculous Data Collection Clause
Rock, Paper, Shotgun has a report on an absolutely absurd clause from the EULA for the Origin digital distribution platform created by EA. It turns out that by installing and using the service, you’re agreeing to give EA the right to:
…collect, use, store and transmit technical and related information that identifies your computer, operating system, Application usage (including but not limited to successful installation and/or removal), software, software usage and peripheral hardware.
I think that just about kills any desire I had to buy the PC version of Battlefield 3.

Apple to Announce 8GB iPhone 4
Multiple sources are reporting – and Reuters is confirming – that Apple has plans to bring an 8GB version of the iPhone 4 to market next month alongside news that the iPhone 5 is on the way. No word yet on price but there’s a chance that it will be priced to compete in the sub-$200 market, which would be awesome.

The Thumbsaver
File this one under “fucking genius”. The Thumbsaver is a magnetic nail setter that takes your fingers out of the path of the hammer. This is $12.99 that you absolutely need to spend if you do any kind of home improvement or woodworking.

Rayman Origins – Gamescom Trailer
I missed this one during our round of Gamescom coverage. I’m definitely looking forward to seeing how it pans out. Rayman has always been a great franchise.

Gearbox to Release Second Duke Nukem Game?
There’s a rumor floating around that once they’re done with Aliens: Colonial Marines, the devs at Gearbox are going to take the Duke Nukem franchise for another spin with Duke Begins – the game they were already working on when they got the giant pile of shit that was Duke Nukem Forever dropped in their laps.
There’s absolutely no way that this is going to end well.

Deus Ex: Human Revolution Receives Rave Reviews
Deus Ex: Human Revolution is out – and it’s a very good game according to just about every major gaming publication that’s reviewed it thus far.
Eurogamer gave the Xbox 360 version a 9 out of 10 rating. Destructoid scored it as a 9.5 out of 10. 1Up graded it with an “A”. The list goes on. You get the idea.
If you’re at all interested in action RPG games, this isn’t one to miss. I’ve played through the first hour or so of the campaign as of this posting and while I’m not personally a big fan of the genre, this is a game that I can really get into.
