Lionsgate to Adapt Dead Island to Film
Lionsgate announced yesterday that it has acquired the film rights to zombie shooter Dead Island and will begin developing it as a feature film. There’s no word yet on a plot – because the project doesn’t even have writers at this point – but Sean Daniel (of The Mummy fame) has signed on as the producer. Expect to see it in theaters sometime in 2014.

The World’s Largest Sushi Roll
Umewaka Restaurant in Anjo City, Japan, sells the world’s largest sushi roll. It’s called the Generous Roll. It’s eight inches thick, weighs about 13 pounds, and costs an incredible ¥15,000 (about $196).
Each roll contains 24 ingredients laid out on six feet of rice and seaweed prior to rolling.

Mozilla Releases Firefox 7
Just six weeks after releasing version 6, Mozilla has unleashed the first build of Firefox 7 on the web. The new version makes a quantum leap in memory management, decreasing RAM usage by as much as 50% on most machines.
Of course, they could have just waited a bit longer and done that with the last build before the release. Mozilla has become the Activision of the web browser world.

Apple Confirms iPhone 5 Announcement For October 4th
Apple started sending out invitations to a press conference on October 4th. They plan to “talk iPhone” at the event. No word on what, if anything, else they’re bringing to the show.
