Kindle Fire Surpassing iPad Sales at Best Buy
It’s official: the Kindle Fire has dethroned all eighteen variations of the iPad for sale at Best Buy as the number one selling tablet device. Of course, it has a lot to do with the fact that the Fire is a.) brand new and b.) half to a third of the cost – but it’s impressive, regardless.
The king is dead. Long live the king.
Dragon Shout App for Skyrim Coming
An unofficial Skyrim app designed for iOS devices called Dragon Shout is pending review and hopefully approval for release on the App Store according to this report from Touch Arcade.
The app, which is free, gives you the tools to track your adventures in Bethesda’s absolutely massive RPG. Did I mention it’s free?

GamePro Gets the Axe
The owners of the long running gaming publication GamePro announced this morning that the company is closing its doors forever on December 5th. The November issue will be its last.
Thank you for your loyalty, support, and participation in the GamePro.com community. At noon on December 5, 2011, the U.S. version of GamePro online will shut down as an independent site.
GamePro will become part of PCWorld.com offering gaming news, reviews, and how-tos from the PCWorld team. Thank you to the entire GamePro staff for their hard work and dedication.
It’s a sign of the times, really. Nobody buys magazines in the age of blogs and tablets.
Amazon Pushes Kindle Fire Update, Breaks Root
Amazon pushed out a 181MB update for the Kindle Fire tablet this morning. The update is primarily a compilation of minor bug fixes but it also breaks root and removes any instance of the Android Market that it happens to find during the patch process.
It’s sad to see Amazon pulling a Sony. How long do they think they can keep this up?
Microsoft Office Coming to the Apple iPad
According to a report from The Daily, there’s a very good chance that the Microsoft Office software suite will end up on the Apple Ipad next year. Sources say a development team is already working on the port and that we can expect to see it for sale on iTunes in 2012.
