well…it has nothing to do with the game. so yeah.

That’s not the point. This video looks fucking amazing as far as star wars goes.

I hope this game is successful not because I want to play it any more than any other game, but because while it’s popular, promotional videos of this quality will keep coming out.

Who knows, maybe George will use this as his preferred medium for any new animated works.

George has a live action TV show sitting on a back burner waiting for them to find a way to do all the CG on the cheap. Also if you havnt seen the previous trailers for the game this was just a compilation of them, you should track down the full length individual versions.

wow this was actually really cool

Hell, I’d rather pay 50 bucks for just a BluRay disk with these promotional shorts than for the game itself.
By the way, the studio behind all these shorts is Blur. Those guys are totally awesome.

I’ve been playing the Weekend beta, and i’d just like to post what i think.
Only buy this game if the story of the game can keep you going through not-so-impressive gameplay.
Basically, if you’ve played WoW, then the combat is exactly the same, but clunkier – I haven’t played WoW for a while, but i still remember what the mechanics are like.
When you press a hotkey for a skill in WoW, something happens. It feels responsive, and the game lets you know it had some impact.

In Star Wars, i found it to be much different. The skills felt clunky and unresponsive, my character looked sluggish and strange, for example if you target an enemy and face away from them your characters upper body twists around 90 degrees and aims its weapon to the right or left.

The PvP is fairly ridiculous, it is reminiscent of the zerging in WoW battlegrounds where everyone just runs around as a giant clusterfuck and avoids the other teams clusterfuck, instead seeking out people who are detached from the main group and swarming them.
Also the “Huttball” game mode is in the random battleground queue, and it is extremely retarded, flame and acid traps everywhere that instant kill you, stuff like that.

The questing in the game is just the usual “Kill X of these etc”, i don’t think i’ve encountered a quest that isn’t talking to NPCs, killing stuff, deliveries etc etc yet.

The only good thing that i saw was something that doesn’t interest me as i’m not into storylines and NPC dialogue that much, but the mass effect style way of talking to NPCs seems to be quite cool. The voice actor for the female characters is the same one who voice acted female Hawke in dragon age 2 (not sure if the voices vary between races, i played some blue race, not the ones with the huge head tentacles.)

When i mention my gripes with the game i’m usually slammed “it’s a beta”, however bear in mind the game releases in about 20 days, and i’m not discussing bugs, i’m discussing the games actual mechanics.

Anyway, thats what i think of the game. I’m glad i had the foresight not to pre-order, at any rate. Unless they release some sort of jesus patch before the game comes out in a few weeks i won’t be trying it again.
