Notch Working On Minicraft 2
Remember last week when Notch churned out a top-down 2D version of Minecraft in under 48 hours for the 22nd Ludum Dare? Well, according to this tweet, he’s working on a sequel – but he thinks it needs a better name than Minicraft 2.
Sadly, no other details are available yet. But the fact that he’s working on this is awesome!

Gun Sales at Record Levels According to the FBI
Based solely on the number of background checks performed against the NICS database so far this month, the FBI says that more Americans purchased firearms in December than any other month in history. Gun dealers have made an incredible 1,534,414 NICS inquiries since December 1 – and the month isn’t even over yet. The previous record was just set last month.
Are people planning a secret uprising that I don’t know about or something?

Van Halen Confirms David Lee Roth Reunion Tour
Legendary rock band Van Halen confirmed yesterday that they’re planning a reunion in 2012 that includes both a tour and a new album with original front man David Lee Roth. The album will be their first with Roth since the hit album 1984, which was released 27 years ago.
It will be interesting to see how Roth, 57, holds up.
Between this and the Black Sabbath reunion plans announced last month, 2012 is shaping up to be an amazing year for old school rock and roll fans.

6.8 Million Android, iOS Devices Activated Christmas Day
Mobile research firm Flurry published a jaw-dropping report today on the number of Android and iOS devices activated on Christmas Day. (Spoiler: 6.8 million.)
The report also covers app downloads, which topped 242 million.
