Officials in the United States and Afghanistan expressed outrage this morning over a video that started circulating online yesterday. The video shows several members of a U.S. Marine sniper team taking turns peeing on the dead bodies of insurgents.
Leaders from every branch of the U.S. military have condemned the actions of everyone who was involved in the incident. Both the Marine Corps and the Naval Criminal Investigative Service (NCIS) have already begun investigating the matter.

doing it stupid enough…but recording it? fuckin morons.
doing things like that is more common than you think
recording was the only thing they did different
Therein lies the problem.
oh yeah dude, I know. my buddy was over there for awhile, so I’ve heard the stories. only funny one I recall is feeding them pork products and then showing them later on what it was, they usually pissed them selves since it meant they were going to hell.
The military is rightfully going to nail their asses to the wall for this (I’d hope, at least). All the little internet patriots out there defending it will do their part to make America hated all the more, though.
Gibs and DiNozzo are going to get them good.
At least there’s plenty of evidence. I have family serving in Afghanistan right now, and I’d like to see these idiots made an example of: military service is hard enough as it is without these kinds of barbarians giving you a bad name.
I have a brother in Afghanistan in the Army. I am saddened at the behavior of these idiots.
not only that but this will spark all sorts of reprisals and boost recruitment, thus these idiots killed fellow soldiers.
Personally, I don’t feel bad about it happening. I think it was stupid for them to video it, but these kind of things happen when you have a war… They have done derogatory things to Americans, you can’t expect someone over there not to want to retaliate, granted we should be the bigger person and not take that extra step. Justified: no Wrong: no Right: no… Video’ed: HELL NO…

Is this justification, no. It’s just examples of how when the Americans do it, its blown out of proportion…
First…nothing we do will ever make these morons “like” us, and Second…this, like Abu Ghraib, has psy-ops all over it. Public humiliation of their dead is what they deserve…this type of thing is nothing new to them. They just never had anyone with the balls to do it to them! Personally, I’d court marshal whoever released the video…that or summary execution.
Public humiliation of their dead is what they deserve? Seriously?
Not sure if you’re a troll or just that bigoted/indoctrinated/ignorant/all of the above..
OK, so it’s perfectly fine for them to take and publicly behead or slowly mutiliate until dead US journalists and service members, tie them to vehicles and drag them through the streets, stone the bodies and put all of this on the web? Really? I served in the 101st Airborne. I’ve been deployed to the war zone. I’ve been shot at there. I’ve lost friends there. I’ve had to see these zealot’s videos of them desecrating our dead and no one stands up and says “enough is enough, wipe them out as they would us”. Do I agree that this shouldn’t have happened? Yes. It was a serious lack of judgement. But do I think it’s any less than what is deserved? No. They have such a radical view of human life that differs so far from ours that they will strap explosives to their own children and send them into area occupied by civilians and US service members and blow them to hell just for the belief that the US and it’s allies are spawn of the devil and need to be erased from the Earth. So I put it to all that haven’t volunteered and served to first do so, and then call those who have served “bigoted/indoctrinated/ignorant/all of the above” after you have put your life on the line and had some of your brothers and sisters not make it home. If you can’t stand behind our service members, please feel free to stand in front of them.
^ well put devious
I have, don’t worry about that. Why does everybody always assume that people with rational points of view haven’t served? I may not have served your country, but I sure as hell served mine.
And while I agree that their lifeview is different, the only way to prove that WE are different is to not “sink to their level” if that’s what you want to call it. Desecrating the dead and other wartime atrocities, while possibly inevitable, will only make them hate us more and truly make the majority of them think of us as devilspawn instead of saviours, or at the very least they’ll know we’re there to help instead of harm. Being in the army isn’t a free license to act like a savage.
Now I know we agree on this, so I’m not wasting many more words on this, but why does it have to be so black and white? That worldview (predominant in army guys) is why I got out of the army after my first tour. No one could see the world except through their own eyes. I can applaud my (ex-)colleagues out in the field while abhorring some of the actions/opinions of people over there (or over here for that matter) whether they’re committed on our side or theirs.
