Big news in the social networking world today: TechCrunch has confirmed that Google is planning to purchase Meebo for around $100 million.
Meebo started back in 2005 as a browser based instant messaging client that supported just about every major IM service – from AIM to ICQ. It “evolved” into a monumentally obnoxious piece of shit that “drives consumer engagement” through the god-awful Meebo Bar.
Why, Google? Why would you want to own such a terrible piece of garbage?
