Bret Taylor, CTO at Facebook, announced today that he’s leaving the company later on this summer to found a new company with a friend of his.
Taylor joined Facebook in 2009 after the world’s largest social network acquired his start-up FriendFeed, which gave rise to the concept of “liking” things across the web. He created the Facebook feed during his time working for Mark Zuckerberg, among other things.
Taylor also happens to be one of the guys who co-created Google Maps. In other words, this is a big loss for Facebook at a time when the company really can’t afford more bad news.
