AllThingsD is reporting that Amazon will ship a thinner, lighter version of the Kindle Fire in Q3 of this year. The new model will feature a 1280×800 display – the same resolution as the screen on the Google Nexus 7. That’s a significant jump from the 1024×600 original.

The report also says that the new Kindle tablet will feature a camera. Still no word on price.
