Microsoft officially confirmed today during the Worldwide Partner Conference in Toronto, Canada that we can expect to see Windows 8 on store shelves in October. The company is currently planning to release the new operating system to manufacturers next month.

This is the first time I’ve been excited about a Microsoft release since the Xbox 360.
