Google just announced plans to update their search algorithms next week to penalize search rankings of sites flagged for repeated copyright infringement. While the intention is good, this isn’t going to end well for Google. It’s only going to take one or two highly publicized incidents where someone is wrongfully punished to generate another public relations nightmare.
