OnLive Sold to Newly Formed Company, Vows to Continue

Streaming game service OnLive had a rather eventful day, it seems. The company sold itself to a “newly formed company” this morning – and more than half of the OnLive team was fired. The company’s executives (none of whom lost their jobs) are now claiming that most of their team will be re-hired by the new owner, which has “substantial funding”.

It’s unclear at this point who exactly bought the company. But considering that Sony already nabbed OnLive’s competitor Gaikai, it’s possible that Microsoft is involved.
