Greg Daniels, producer of the award-winning NBC comedy The Office, confirmed during a private call today that the ninth season, which is set to premiere on September 20th, will be the show’s last. Daniels went on to promise that “all questions will be answered” in terms of the show’s main remaining plot arcs.

In other words, NBC finally accepted the fact that Steve Carell made the show great. Neither Will Ferrell nor Ed Helms could even touch his ratings. It’s sad but unfortunately true.
