Surprise, surprise. Apple.com sold through its initial inventory of the iPhone 5 in less than an hour today. They’re also already out of their new Lightning cables and 30-pin adapters. The iPhone 5 sold out twenty times faster than the 4S. A sellout was expected but Jesus Christ.

Unfortunately, the company has also pushed back the shipping date for its newest phone from the 21st to the 28th of this month. No explanation for the delay is currently available, although it’s probably safe to assume that it has everything to do with overwhelming demand.

You can, of course, try picking one up at an Apple retail store next Friday. (Good luck!)
