In what will undoubtedly go down as one of the most jaw-dropping business deals this century, Star Wars creator George Lucas sold his legendary film franchise Lucasfilm to Disney for a whopping $4.05 billion this morning. Lucas, 68, gets 40 million shares in Disney under the agreement and he has agreed to serve the company as a “creative consultant”.
A consultant on what, you ask? The next Star Wars trilogy, as it turns out.
