An overzealous fan of the hit AMC zombie drama The Walking Dead was arrested this past week after he shot his girlfriend in the back with a .22 caliber rifle during an apparently heated argument over the plausibility of the show’s premise happening in real life.

Jared Gurman, 26, of Long Island, New York, now faces attempted murder charges. The victim suffered a pierced lung, shattered rib and pierced diaphragm. She’s expected to live.
